MedExchange
MedExchange is the original Dr Bill exchange, and currently has access to more than six million payer bills. Those bills are serviced by a roster of vendors that include household names. The flexibility and control that MedExchange affords Payers, and the level playing field it provides Vendors, is important in all markets -- but is critical in P & C cost containment. Today, both payers and vendors in this market are running out of viable options. And the remaining choices operate in business models that are far from the open market, neutral third-party approach of MedExchange. Using MedExchange, Payers can now build an extensive re-pricing program featuring as many vendors of their own choice as they would like; and do it quickly, affordably, and at their own pace. They work directly with their cost containment partners or prospects to build their programs, and pay the same per-bll transaction fee to Dr Bill no matter how many vendors a bill may visit or savings it may accrue. Entry is easy, and there is no need to make a wrenching change -- the Exchange is built to allow jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction augmentation of an existing program for as long as necessary or desirable. But ultimate control of the entire process, including bill review, is possible for those who wish. MedExchange already includes excellent choices for a national program, and new vendors are being added over time. These vendors, and those who join them, gain access to a market of payers that are dedicated to building aggressive cost containment programs that meet their individual needs. Using MedExchange, vendors also simplify and reduce the cost of implementing, maintaining, and operating the technology to communicate bills. And they have a direct relationship with their customers, with MedExchange providing only bill management and delivery functions. All Exchange members pay a small fee only for the functions that the Exchange actually provides. There is no charge for access to a particular member, no favored members, no skimming of savings or fees. All members' goals are aligned. Bringing more vendors on the system attracts more payers, so vendors as well as payers win. Bringing more payers on attracts more vendors, so payers as well as vendors win. The more volume on the Exchange, the lower fees will go. As is usually the case, the open market and most efficient (single connection per member) solution is the most powerful and least expensive. |
