MedSelect

MedSelect is not an Exchange – it is a program to support the construction and marketing of full cost containment programs built on the Dr Bill MedExchange platform and offered to P & C payers. 

The benefits of open market cost containment are first being realized by larger payers that have long desired the ability to build their own programs.  These payers have the existing knowledge and resources to research the national re-pricing market, negotiate with multiple vendors, do the contract work, and subsequently monitor and manage legislative changes and market conditions.  They use MedExchange to respond by altering their lineup of re-pricing services.  In many cases, they are building their solution incrementally.

However, many smaller payers have the same or more need for the benefits of open market cost containment, but may need or desire a faster way to implement and/or may not have the resources immediately available to set up a roster of vendors. Others may choose to outsource that function initially or for the longer term. Some are using an expensive and/or less effective program, or have never been able to afford a re-pricing program and therefore have no starting point.

This is where MedSelect comes into play.  These payers will benefit from services that bundle a standard (but not exclusive) set of vendor offerings with the Dr Bill MedExchange platform.  All of the benefits of MedExchange remain available to payers using one of these services.  However, the services provide a strong standard selection of vendor offerings at a given price.  The vendors handle the research, negotiate aggregate volume contracts at favorable rates, and manage the payer’s Routing Plans.  Any payer can, and is encouraged to, augment or substitute other vendor offerings for the supplied standard ones.  So payers can bring established and effective relationships with them, or add them later. 

Now any payer can afford and manage a full and powerful cost containment program.  Many payers will never outgrow this solution, but if they do, they can instantly switch to Dr Bill Exchange and pick up the management functions themselves.

It is in the industry’s best interests for the open market cost containment model to proliferate as quickly as possible.  MedSelect is our program to encourage and support its growth.  The program is open to both new and existing companies.

Marketing Opportunity:  The MedSelect portion of this website will be enhanced to support company and service descriptions, contact information, and other relevant data about companies offering bundled services on MedExchange.

Lead Generation:  Payers seeking such programs will be afforded a place to enter their contact information and receive information from all listed services.

Fair and Equal Pricing:  All MedSelect vendors will receive the same tiered pricing for the use of MedExchange.  Any time pricing changes, those changes will proliferate to all MedSelect vendors.
